 In the name of God amen. this twenty third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred thirty and six. I William Swift of Queen Anne County in the province of Maryland planter being very sick and weak in Body but of perfect and sound memory, thanks be given to almighty God. Therefore calling to mind the mortallity of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it, and as for my Body I bequeath it to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:

 Imprimis. It is my will, and I do order that in the first place all my just Debts and funeral Charges be paid.

 Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Moses Swift a Tract of Land called Indian Tract Containing fifty acres lying between the head of Swanbrook branch and Lows branch in Queen ann's County to him, his heirs and assigns for ever.

 Item. I give and bequeath unto Joan my Dearly beloved wife my new dwelling plantation with the Tract of Land on which the said plantation is called Swifts Forrest Containing fifty acres during her widowhood but if she marries again, then the said plantation and Tract of Land shall fall to my Son John Swift his heirs and assigns for ever, or if she should not Marry again the said plantation and Tract of Land shall fall to my son John Swift his heirs and assigns forever after the decease of my sd. wife.

 Item. I give and bequeath to my son Manuel Swift a Tract of land called Swift Forrest addition lying in Queen ann's County Containing fifty acres to him his heirs and assigns forever.

 Item. I give and bequeath unto my son William Swift and my son Thomas Swift, one hundred acres of Land called Swifts meadow being in the forrest of Queen ann's County to be equally Divided between them both in quantity and quality their heirs and assigns forever.

 Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Swift a Tract of Land called Williams pailnre lying in the forrest of Choptank in Queen Ann's County fifty four acres to him his heirs and assigns forever.

 Item. I give and bequeath unto my eight sons and three Daughters, viz: Ralph Swift, William Swift, Richard Swift, John Swift, Thomas Swift, Samuel Swift, Manuel Swift, James Swift, Mary Simpple, Elizabeth Swift, and Amey Swift all my moveable Estate except my Wife's thirds to be equally divided among them their heirs and assigns.

 Item. I appoint my son John Swift and my son Thomas Swift Joynt Executors of this my last Will and Testament, ratifying Confirming and allowing of this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Redmond Fallin
Thomas Baggs
Richard B. Harrington

July 26th 1736. Then came Redmond Fallin & Richd. Harrington two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will who being duly & Solemnly sworn on the holy Evangels of Almighty God, did depose & say that they saw the Testator William Swift sign the same will & heard him publish & declare the same to be his last Will & Testament. That at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound & disposing mind & memory & that they subscribed their respective names as Witnesses to the said will in the presence of the said Testator & they beleive at his request at w'ch same time. Thomas Baggs the other Subscribing Witness to ye same will subscribed his name thereto in the presence of the said Testator, and as they think & beleive at his request wich oath was taken by the afd. Redmond Fallin & Richard Harrington in the presence of Ralph Swift heir at law. Sworn before me

23d Aug. 1736. Then came Thomas Baggs the other subscribing Witness to the foregoing will who being duly & solemnly sworn on the holy Evangels of Almighty God, did depose & say that he saw the Testator Wm Swift sign the same will & heard him publish & declare the same to be his will & Testament. That at the time of his so doing he was to ye best of his apprehension of sound disposing mind & memory & that he subscribed his name as witness to the said will in the presence of the said Testator & as he beleives at his request at w'ch same time Redmond Fallin & Richard Harrington the other Subscribing Witnesses to the same Will subscribed their respective names or marks thereto, in the presence of the sd. Testator & as he thinks at his request. I Certify ye Ralph Swift the heir at Law to sd. Decd. thi he wanted present now had before been wth me & had no objection to the proveing the foregoing will as before certifyed. Sworn to before me

 Maryland Ss'e. Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Swift of Queen Ann's County planter do by these presents assign all my right to the administration of the last Will & Testament of my Father William Swift unto my Brother John Swift. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 24th day of July Anno Domini 1736.
