No. 87. Deed of Conveyance
Charles McClung & Cozby By ther attorney Wm. Smith To Robert C. McRee & William Clift for 400 acres of land.

This Indenture made this 20th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five between Charles McClung of the County of Knox James Cozby of the County of Hamilton in the State of Tennessee By William Smith their attorney in fact of the one part and Robert C. McRee and William Clift of Hamilton County aforesaid of the other part,

Witnesseth that Charles McClung and James Cozby for and in Consideration of the sum of eight hundred Dollars to them in hand paid have and by thes presents do bargain sell and convey unto the said Robert C. McRee and William Clift their heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Hamilton aforesaid on the North side of Tennessee River

Beginning [about six words unreadable] oaks on the west bank of Sale Creek thence down the meanders of said creek two hundred and fifty six poles to Tennessee River thence down the meanders of said River nine hundred and forty Eight poles to a mulberry the corner of Eagltons six hundred and forty acre survey thence North sixty degrees west with Eagletons line one hundred and twenty poles to a stake and thence a direct line to the Beginning Containing four hundred acres be the same more or less.

To have and to hold to the said Robert C. McRee and William Clift their heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claim and demand of all and Every person or persons whatsoever the said Charles McClung & James Cozby by William Smith their attorney in fact aforesaid have hereunto set their hands and seals the date above written.

State of Tennessee Hamilton County Court } February Session 1826.
Then was the Execution of the within Deed of conveyance duly acknowledged in open Court by William Smith attorney in fact for the Conveyors and admitted to record and ordred to be Registered. Given under my hand and privet seal not not having official seal at office at Hamilton Court House this 2d. day of March 1826.
