Simpson and Caroline Eliza Simpson my Daughter I hereby give and do by these presents convey and confirm unto the said John I. Simpson and his wife Caroline Eliza Simpson the following Lot or piece of land said land lying and being in Hardeman County State of Tennessee North of the Memphis & Charleston Rail Road Village of Middleton and on the East side of Street L. Beginning at a stake on the East side of said Street L. runs East 103 feet to a stake thence south 144 feet to a stake thence west 103 feet to a stake on the East side of said Street L. Thence with said street L. 144 feet to the Beginning containing (1/3) one third of one acre of Land to the same more or less. to have and to hold ... In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 21st day of December A.D. 1868.        A. M.
