State of Georgia Wilkes County } This Indenture Made this Seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety two and in the sixteenth year of American Independency Between John Stedham of Edgefield County South carolina of the one part and Permenus Haynes of the County of Wilkes & State of Georgia of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of Eighty pounds Sterling Lawfull money of the State to the said John Stedham in hand paid by thge said permenius Haynes at or before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged hath Granted Bargained Sold Released & Confirmed & by these presents doth Grant Bargain Sell Release & Confirm unto the said permenus Haynes his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in the County of Wilkes on the Waters of Dry fork of Buflow Creek Bounded on all sides by Vacant Lands when Surveyed and at this time as follows Contain two hundred acres Bounded on the North by Lands of Alexander Hawkins & John Hardeman on the East by said Hardeman on the South by Hardeman & James Greer & on the West by said Greer to the Beginning. Having such form and Shape as a platt of the same will shew annexed to the Grant assigned by his honor the Governor Bearing date the third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five.
