The State of Texas County of Cass } Decr. the 4th 1860, for and in Consideration of the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I have this day sold and delivered unto Mary Mitchell a Sertain Negro Woman of dark complexion fifteen years old whose name is Jenney Lin and I Warant the said negro to be sound in Body and mind and a slav for life and I will forever Warant and defend the Title of said Property. Given under my hand and seal using a scroll for a seal this the Day above written.

State of Texas County of Cass } Personally appeared before the undersigned authority J. P. Wood to me well Known and whose name appears as one of the subscribing witnesses to the annexed and foregoing Bill of sale from J M Wood to Mary Mitchell bearing date the 4th day of December AD 1860 who after being duly sworn by me deposeth and says on oath that he saw the said J M Wood sign seal and deliver the same and acknowledge it to be legal done for the Considerations and purposes therein Contained and expressed.

The State of Texas County of Cass } I Thomas J White Clerk of the County Court in & for the county & state aforesaid do here certify that the annexed Bill of sale from J M Wood to Mary Mitchell was filed in my office for Record May the 27th at 9 oC Am & duly Recorded June the 10 1861.
