The following Deed of Convey. from John Ballinger to John Alexander being proven before Wm. Baskin, Esq., by the oath of Wm. Baird was presented and recorded this 27th day of January 1801.

Know all men by these presents that I John Ballinger of the State of Georgia for and in consideration of the sum Ninety dollars to me in hand paid by John Alexander of South Carolina have granted bargained sold and Released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and Release unto the said John Alexander

all that tract of land containing six hundred and forty acres be the same more or less  lying and being in the County of Greenville in the State aforesaid bounded by John Alexander ----- Floyd and vacant land when surveyed which by referring to the grant dated March 1786 will more full appear;

Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appertenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise Incident or appertaining thereto. To have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said John Alexander his heirs and assigns forever.  It is understood that I not make myself liable for claims of Missnor Floid. And I do hereby bind my heirs Executors and admtrs to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said John Alexander his heirs Executors and assigns against myself my heirs and against every person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof only as before excepted.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd January Ano domini 1801 and 25 of American Independence.
