A Power of attorney from Jane Deaver to Charles Campbell. Registered March 1843. State of Tennessee Hardeman County. I do hereby nominate Charles Campbell my attorney in fact for me and in my name to sell and convey to any person or persons their heirs and assigns forever who will purchase the same by general Warrantee Be in one or more tracts as he may think best my tract of land in the state of Tennessee in Lawrence County containing by estimation one hundred and ninety acres and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a Mulberry marked T.H.P. standing on the North Bank of Grinders Creek two hundred and twenty six poles and seven hundred and seventy poles North from the two mile post west of the south East corner of the section runs East one hundred and sixteen poles to two white oaks thence north one hundred and thirteen poles to a white oak and chestnut thence west two hundred and twenty six poles to a red oak thence south one hundred and thirteen poles to a poplar and Hornbeam thence East one hundred and ten poles to the beginning containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less the remaining of land Patent and held under two grants, bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a white oak saplin twelve poles north of the north east corner of Hardin Perkins one hundred sixty acres thence east Eighty poles to a Hickry Thence north forty poles to a black oak thence west Eighty poles to an Iron wood and Spanish oak thence south forty poles to the beginning containing by estimation twenty acres & Beginning at a white oak twenty poles East of the south west corner of the one hundred and sixty acres conveyed to me by Thomas H. Perkins thence south thirty five poles to a white oak thence east forty five and eight tenths poles to a ----- thence north thirty five to a stake in Perkins line thence west with the same forty five and eight tenth poles to the Beginning with the whole or any part of the same ... I do hereby ratify and Confirm any act or thing he may lawfully do in the premises as fully as I were present and doing the same miself this 24 day of February 1843.    Jane her x mark Dever (seal) Test  Robt.
