No. 15. Wm. Lackeys deed to Js. Cliff land on the head waters of Lyons Creek.
This Indenture made this Twentyeth day August Anno Domini One Thousand eight hundred and ten between William Lackey and James Cliff both of Knox County and Tennessee State. Witnesseth that the said William Lackey for & in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said James Cliff (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) hath and by these presents doth Grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said James Cliff

a certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the aforesaid County of Knox on the head waters of Lyons Creek it being the same that sd. lackey now lives on bounded as follows (Viz) Begining at a Postoak then north fifty six poles to a black oak then north forty eight East one hundred and eight eight poles to a Black oak and hickory then south forty one East fifty poles to a post oak, then north Twenty poles to Stake and post oak then East Two hundred poles to a small hickory then south one hundred and seventy five poles to sasafras, then west one hundred and eighty five poles to a black oak, then west on to a conditional line made between Alexander McMillan and William Lackey then with said line to the begining. One hundred & thirty one and one half acres of the same was conveyed to the said Lackey by Joseph Karnes it being part of a four hundred acre Grant of No.  dated November 19th 1794 and two hundred acres of the same Granted by the State of North Carolina to the sd. Wm. Lackey of No. 365 as by reference to the Registers office of Knox County will appear being in all Three Hundred and thirty one & one half acres

which said tract of Land together the appurtenances thereto belonging I the said William Lackey for myself my heirs Executors Administrators and assigns do and will warrant and forever defend unto the said James Cliff his heirs Exctrs. &c. as an Indefeasable Inheritance in fee simple in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal the date first above written.
