Michael King Deed to Alexander Chesnutt Return made to the Secretary's office 4 April 1768. To All people to whom these presents shall come Greeting. That I Michael King of the County of Duplin and province of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty pounds proclamation money to me in hand paid before the Ensealing hereof well and truly paid by Alexander Chesnutt of the County and province aforesaid ... have given ... one plantation or tract of land situated lying and being in the County aforesaid on the west side of the six Runs on the South side of a Beaver Dam swamp begining at a stake in the line of the pattent in the senter of three marked trees and Runs So. 62 Et. 82 pole to a pine thence No. 28 Et. 190 poles To the Beaver dam swamp then up the Beaver dam swamp 82 pole to a pine thence along a line of marked trees to a stake the first Station Containing One hundred acres of Land more or less by Estimation. To have and to hold ... paying to his majesty and his successors the Reserved Quitrents of Four shillings proclamation money per hundred Acres as the said Pattent Reserved and on the Back Quitrents from the Date of Benjamin Lewises Deed to the present date hereafter mentioned as free and clear ...
