This Indenture made this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and of the twenty second year of the sovereignty & Independancy of America, Between Wilkins Smith of the County of Columbia and State of Georgia of the one part and William Pearson of the County of Wilkes and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Wilkins Smith for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars ... hath Granted Bargained sold aliened enfeofed & Conveyed & Confirm unto the said Wm. Pearson his heirs or assigns a Certain tract of Land Containing by estimation one hundred and Eleven Acres be the same more or less situate being and lying on the waters of Little River Wilkes County having such form Natural and Artificial as is delinated and presented in the Oposite plat with all its bounderies being part of a Grant of Land granted to William Downs Esqr. Bearing date 1784 and from him the said Downs Deeded to said Smith.
