This Indenture made the 26th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & thirty nine Between John Hocumb of Craven County Province of No. Carolina Planter of the one part & John Heith of the same place County and province aforesd. planter of the other part. Witnesseth that I the said John Hocumb for & in consideration of one hundred pounds curt. money of the province aforesd. to me in hand paid by the aforsd. John Heith before the ensealing hereof the Rect. whereof I do hereby acknowledge I am herewith fully satisfied contented & paid have given granted bargaind aliend sold enfeoffed conveyed & confirmed assigned & set over unto the sd. John Heith his heirs Execrs. Adms. or Assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the south side of Nuse River in the County aforsd.

Beginning at a red oak near handcocks Branch in Hocumbs line & called Moseleys runs south 80 pole to a white oak then So. 62 Et. 264 pole to a pine in Seady's line the No. 15 Et. 160 Pole to a hickory it being another tree in Isaac Scadys line, then So. 75 Et. 78 pole to a white oak near Dudly Gordons Branch, then No. 24 Et. 100 pole to a gum by the river pocoson Then No. 75 Wt. 112 Poles to a red Oak, then So. 20 West 160 pole to a dogwood then with a straight line to the first station, containing Two hundred & twenty acres or less.
