Brother, Sister Claimed by Death
A Kenosha brother and sister died within nine hours of each other the past week end.
Mrs. Elsie Miechowicz, 68, 4048 10th Ave., died at St. Catherine's hospital Sunday evening following a long illness. Her brother, Edward Kielszek, 66, 6028 18th Ave., died at Kenosha hospital about nine hours later also following a long illness.
Born in Poland, they were the son and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kielszek. Mrs. Miechowicz was born June 3, 1888, while her brother was born Sept. 21, 1890.
Kielszek came to the United States and Kenosha in 1900. He was a member of the United States Air Force from Jan. 2, 1912, to March 31, 1945, when he retired with the rank of master sergeant.
Mrs. Miechowicz came to the United States and Kenosha in 1902. In June, 1922, she was married to Joseph Miechowicz.
Both were members of St. Casimir's church. Kielszek also was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and Mrs. Miechowicz was a member of the Polish National Alliance.
Besides her husband she is survived by five sons, Leo, George, John, Peter and Casimir, all of Kenosha; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Tenuta, Kenosha; and 12 grandchildren.
They are both survived by one brother, Stanley, Kenosha. Besides their parents they were preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Mary Cieszkowski. Mr. Miechowicz also was preceded in death by one son.
