Book K Page 24 Robert Gamble to Samuel Johnston 100 acres in two islands Holston River
 This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two Between Robert Gamble of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee and Samuel Johnston of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Gamble for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Samuel Johnston his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred acres, be the same more or less lying in the County of Knox in two islands in the Holston the said two islands is just above and nearly opposite the mouth of Sinking Creek.

Beginning near the upper point of the Largest island on a Sally ----- running thence down the meanders of the fork n-t the North Bank of the River North forty west ten poles. north fifty west three hundred and two poles to a stake near the lower point then up the meanders of the other side to the Beginning so as to include two islands breadths and lengths which Land was granted to the said Samuel Johnson this twenty fifth day of November 1802 No. 553. With all and singular ... To have and to hold ... In witness whereof the said Robert Gamble hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
