State of North-Carolina Davidson County } Know all Men by these Presents, That we, Samuel Lambeth and John Kepluf in the State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto the State of North-Carolina, in the just and full sum of Five Hundred Pounds, current money of the State, to be paid to said North-Carolina; for the payment of which, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally and firmly by these presents. . Sealed with our Seals, and dated this 7th day of January A. D. 1838  The condition of the above Obligation is such, that the above bounden hath made application for a License for a Marriage, to be celebrated between him and Rachel Myers of the County aforesaid; Now nn case it shall not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct said Marriage, then the above Obligation to be void--otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.    Saml. his SL mark Lambeth (Seal)    John his J mark Kepluf (Seal) Test.
