State of Texas County of Smith } Know all men by these presents that We N. K. Simpson and his Wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and Seventy five Dollars, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day Sold and do by these presents bargain Sell, alien and Convey unto Charles W. Neel his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract of Land described as follows:

Beginning at the north Corner of a tract Sold by Thomas Meadow to J. T. L. Stuart a post on the west bank of a creek, from which a Walnut tree bears N 51o E 2 1/2 Varas, Thence down said creek with its meanderings S 22 E 356 v to Stuarts S. E. Corner a post from which a hickory bears N 40 W 1 V Thence N 68o E 318 vs. a post from which a Hickory bears N 20o W 3 vs. thence North 35 1/2 E 101 3 vs. a post on north town dry line of Original Survey. Thence West with said line 606 vrs. a post from which a black Jack bears S 75 W 2/10 vs. Thence South 333 vs. a post from which a Black Jack bears 38 W 2 12/2 vs. thence S 30 W 225 vs. a post from which a Hickory bears N 15 E 2 1/2 vs. thence S 68o W 247 vrs. to the Beginning, Containing 73 acres being a part of a Survey in the name of Thomas Orr and Situated in the County and State aforesaid, Seven miles S. E. of Tyler.

To have and to hold the Same from and against Ourselves Our heirs Executors or Administrators, or the Claim of Any and all persons Claiming or to Claim Same. Also to Warrant and defend title to above described land to Said Chas W. Neel forever whereunto We hereunto Set Our hands and affix our Seals using Scrolls this 27 day of March AD 1871.

State of Tennessee Hardeman County } To J. D Saper Esquire. You are hereby authorized and empowered to take the Examination of Mary A. Simpson privately and apart from her husband, relative to her free Execution of the Annexed Deed. And the Same So Taken to Certify your hand and Seal. Witness W. D. Dorion, Clerk of the County Court of Said County at office the 27 day of March 1871.  W. C. Dorion Clerk

State of Tennessee Hardeman County } Mary A. Simpson wife of N. K. Simpson having personally appeared before me and having by virtue of the Authority in me vested, been examined privately and apart from her Said husband, and She having acknowledged the due Execution of the annexed Deed, by her freely, voluntary and understandingly, without Compulsion or Constraint by her Said Husband, and for the purposes therein expressed the Same is therefore Certified.

State of Tennessee Hardeman County } To W. C. Dorion Clerk of the County Court of Said County. I do hereby Certify that J. D. Sasser whose genuine Signature appears to the annexed Certificates is now and was at the time of Signing the Same. Clerk of the county court of Said County duly Elected and Qualified and that his Official acts as Such are entitled to full faith and Credit.
 Given under my hand and private Seal, having no Seal of office, at Bolivar this 4th day of April 1871.  James B. Harriss (seal) Chairman etc. Hardeman County Court

State of Tennessee Hardeman County } I W. C. Dorion Clerk of the County Court of Said County do hereby Certify that James B. Harriss Whose genuine Signature appears to the above Certificate is now and was at the date thereof Chairman of the County Court of Said County, duly elected Commissioned and qualified as Justice of the peace for Said County. And that his acts as Such Chairman are entitled to full faith and Credit.
