County Court February Term 1886

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that William Clift, departed this life recently in Hamilton County, Intestate, and it further appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, from Testimony produced, that Mrs. E. H. Clift, relict of said William Clift, Deceased waives her right to administer upon the estate of her said husband William Clift, and James W. Clift having made application for Letters of Administration to be issued and granted him and he having entered into Bond in the sum of Twenty Five Thousand ($25000.00) Dollars, with M. H. Clift and J. J. Clift as his sureties on said Bond and said James W. Clift, together with his sureties having acknowledged said Bond in open Court and said James W. Clift having qualified as required by Law as such Administrator, it is therefore ordered by the Court that James W. Clift be and he is hereby appointed Administrator of the estate of William Clift, Deceased and that Letter of Administration be issued and granted him and said Letters together with the Bond be recorded and Bond filed.

Letters of Administration

State of Tennessee, Hamilton County,
We, James W. Clift and M. H. Clift J. J. Clift are bound to the State of Tennessee, in the penalty of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars. Witness our hands and seals, this 23 day of Feby A. D. 1886. The Condition of this Obligation is such, That, whereas, the above bound James W. Clift has been appointed Administrator of the estate of William Clift deceased. Now, if the said James W. Clift shall well and truly, as such Administrator perform all the duties which are or may be required by law, this obligation shall be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

County Court March Term 1886

The Clerk presented an Inventory of the estate of William Clift Decd filed by J. W. Clift administrator of said estate which the Court confirmed and ordered spread of Record on the Book of Inventories.

County Court January Term 1887

The Clerk presented a supplemental Inventory of the estate of Wm. Clift decd, which the Court accepts and directs the Clerk to make a minute of the same and Record said supplemental Inventory on the Book of Inventories.

Settlement in full and final made with J. W. Clift, admr. of the Estate of Wm. Clift deceased up to and including and bearing date of July 7, 1896 is approved by the court and ordered recorded.

We, James W. Clift J. J. Clift M. H. Clift T. M. Walker and J. Walter Clift are bound to the State of Tennessee, in the penalty of Ten Thousand Dollars. Witness our hands and seals, this 6th day of Mch A. D. 1905. The Condition of this Obligation is such, That, whereas, the above bound James W. Clift has been appointed Administrator of the estate of William Clift deceased. Now, if the said James W. Clift shall well and truly, as such Administrator perform all the duties which are or may be required by law, this obligation shall be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
