Note for Grizzell McKenzie Will
To her son Hilleriah she bequeathed a slave, and to her son Alfred another slave and also the bed he was using.  To her granddaughter Lucinda she left "the bed and furniture known as that one belonging to her Aunt Lucinda for whom she was named."  The rest of the estate was to be sold and equally fivided by "my three sons Alfred, Hilleriah, and John."  The sons Hilleriah and John were named executors. Witnesses were J. M. Ross, Caroline Boggs, and A.S. Hutchinson.  The original will has Grizzel's feeble but distinctly educated signature.
